Medical
With the serious medical complications often associated with eating disorders, we know it is imperative that our clients receive excellent medical care. Opal’s Medical Director is Dr. Elizabeth Hutchinson of Swedish Family Medicine. See “Our Staff” to learn more about Dr. Hutchinson.
Partial Hospitalization clients will have a medical assessment prior to admission to assess for medical stability and appropriateness for our program. Dr. Hutchinson will conduct this initial assessment and Swedish Family Medicine resident physicians will provide medical follow-up and care, as frequently as recommended. Swedish residents providing treatment to our patients will be supervised by Dr. Hutchinson. Opal’s in-house Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will meet weekly with partial hospitalization clients for psychiatric medication evaluation and management.
Clients in our intensive outpatient program and those receiving traditional outpatient services can receive services from our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and the Swedish Family Medicine team.
Opal’s medical providers, dietitians, mental health therapists, psychologists and psychiatric provider will be unified in their treatment approach and in close communication with one another to ensure the best collaboration of care for our clients.
