Zarah Kushner, ARNP
Zarah is a Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). She offers psychotherapy and medication management from a client-centered, collaborative and integrative perspective. Zarah targets symptoms that may be interfering with life; using medication and/or psychotherapy to increase resilience and skills for managing issues that have caused clients to veer from the life they desired. With clients who have an established therapist, she works collaboratively in a medication management role.
Zarah’s approach is flexible to best suit clients’ needs at any given point with a focus on workability. She uses practical strategies from cognitive behavioral therapies and clinical mindfulness to enable clients to get unstuck and be more present with whatever situation is right now.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and women’s studies at Florida Atlantic University in 1999. She later earned a RN/BSN equivalent in 2004 and a master’s in community health nursing in 2006 from Pacific Lutheran University. Most recently, she earned a master’s in psychiatric mental health nursing in 2010 and is currently a doctor of nursing practice candidate at the University of Washington. She has worked in nursing in a variety of community settings since 2004 and as a Psychiatric ARNP in a group practice setting since 2010. She joined Opal with its opening in 2012.
