Sydni Hammar, LMFTA (MG61192676), is a Primary Therapist at Opal and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in the State of Washington. Growing up in Los Angeles, Sydni was often exposed to diet
culture and became especially curious about how both family beliefs and our cultural context can influence conceptions about bodies/health. As someone who also grew up participating in competitive sports, Sydni was struck by the attitudes and approaches to movement that often led to disconnections between heart, mind, and body. Sydni is passionate about supporting clients in facing their fears and stepping into closer relationship with themselves and those around them.
Sydni received her Masters in Couples and Family Therapy at Seattle University. She is informed by a family systems lens and approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, compassion, and humor when appropriate.
Sydni is an LGBQTIA+ affirming and trauma informed therapist, drawing from
various therapeutic modalities + lenses, including: attachment science, object-
relations, ACT, family systems, narrative therapy, and EFT.
Sydni has additional training in Lifespan Integration (Levels 1 + 2) for trauma processing.
