Uses She/Her pronouns

Jenny Freitag is an Agency Affiliated Registered Counselor in the State of Washington (#CG61617461).

Jenny (she/her) is a graduate student at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology studying Counseling Psychology. She is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Facilitator, in which she has spent several years helping people discover and restore the innate wisdom of their bodies through a HAES approach.

Jenny believes that both our deepest wounds and thus our most profound healing, is found within the context of relationships. Her professional journey has been fueled by helping people first find embodied and holistic connection in relationship to themselves. She aims toward creating a safe space that honors each person’s unique experience. In aiming to elevate each individual’s unique story, Jenny recognizes the urgent necessity of challenging the pervasive narratives that uphold diet culture and perpetuate body shaming, particularly among marginalized identities. She is dedicated to advocating for an anti-diet framework that promotes inclusivity and celebrates diverse body sizes and shapes at the intersections of all identities.

As a white, cisgender, and non-disabled woman, she recognizes that her privileged identities and behaviors can inadvertently harm those in healing environments. Therefore, she is committed to ongoing self-reflection and education in moving away from culturally ingrained fatphobic, racist and ableist body standards.

In her free time, Jenny loves to explore the PNW through backpacking, running, skiing and film photography. She also enjoys cooking new recipes, attending farmer’s markets, singing loudly when no one is around and snuggling her sweet kitty Frito.
