Meridith sees therapy as a creative and collaborative relationship where clients can learn to reconnect with their inherent wholeness and embodied wisdom. She believes therapy can help honor how clients have survived to the present moment while learning more adaptive coping strategies to carry forward. Her professional areas of interest include somatic and mindfulness-based approaches to therapy.

Meridith’s interests also include attachment, attuned/intuitive eating, LGBTQIA+ issues, gender affirming care, spirituality, and substance abuse and recovery.

Meridith feels passionate about the healing work of liberation from diet culture, body shame, and systems of oppression, returning to innate access to pleasure, creativity, and freedom. Their own personal journey on this path changed dramatically when she learned about intuitive eating ten years ago and began to heal her relationships with food, eating, and movement. She resonates deeply with Opal’s mission and is excited to deepen her clinical training in this community.
Meridith is currently pursuing a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Naropa University, focusing on mindfulness-based approaches to therapy. Their prior career and educational background is in public health and health care administration.

In her free time, Meridith enjoys spending time with their partner and two young children, reading, gardening, and exploring the many lakes and parks in the Seattle area.
