Blake is a third-year clinical mental health counseling student at Seattle University. He believes deeply in Opal’s values and in the power of therapy as a means to not only reduce symptoms, but to elicit long-lasting change. He has a specific interest in existential therapy, RO-DBT, strengths-based approaches, LGBTQIA+ issues, and substance use treatment.

Blake’s passion for working in the mental health field is rooted in both his professional and lived experience. He understands the complexity of recovery and the courage it takes to seek help. This perspective informs his commitment to walking alongside clients in their unique journeys towards healing.

As a white, cisgendered, non-disabled man, Blake is committed to a lifelong practice of self-inquiry, humility, and advocacy regarding racism, bias, and oppression. He strives to foster authentic, affirming, and collaborative relationships with clients, honoring the wisdom they bring to the therapeutic process.

In his spare time, Blake enjoys reading comic books, street photography, bouldering, and going to the movies with friends.
