Mental Health Intern
Uses She/Her pronouns
Cait is an Agency Affiliate Registered Counselor in the State of Washington (#CG61617459)
Cait (she/her) is a third-year clinical mental health counseling graduate student at Seattle University (’25). She believes deeply in Opal’s values and how the combined power of curiosity and self-inquiry, stable relationships and community can heal. She has specific interest in RO-DBT, attachment and family therapy, working with depression and anxiety, and spirituality as an avenue for self-knowledge.
In a previous life, she spent nearly a decade in corporate training and development, but is excited her career change is allowing her to focus on her area of passion: dismantling diet culture and helping people (and herself) live healthier lives in relation to food and weight.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and journaling, consuming reality television, listening to podcasts, including Maintenance Phase and You’re Wrong About, tending to her plant jungle, and chilling with her husband and cats. She also volunteers at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center in Redmond, working with folks with disabilities via adaptive riding.
As a straight-size, het-presenting queer white woman with non-visible disabilities, Cait recognizes the privilege and positionality in her identities. She is committed to an ongoing and lifelong practice of self-inquiry and (un)nlearning around bias, racism, and oppression.
