Claire recently moved to Seattle. With a degree in Computer Science, she is new to the world of eating disorder treatment and medicine. However, she has experience with mental health, community building, creating safe environments, and the importance of food as fuel through her background as a backpacking and whitewater rafting guide, a resident assistant for college residence life, and a camp counselor. In those roles, Claire enjoyed helping a wide demographic through challenges and new experiences. She is passionate about creating community through shared experience and helping people find confidence in self-empowerment. She is excited to participate in Opal’s important mission through the promotion of approaches she has found invaluable to reframing food and body, such as intuitive eating, HAES, and joyful movement.
In her free time, Claire loves to be outside, play hockey and volleyball, make arts or crafts, and travel.
