Teri is the Utilization Review Specialist at Opal, where she combines her expertise in behavioral health with a passion for ensuring individuals receive the care they need. With years of experience working closely with patients, providers, and insurance companies, she has gained a deep understanding of the complexities of navigating insurance approval for eating disorder treatment. This knowledge enables her to advocate effectively for individuals, aligning clinical recommendations with insurance requirements while always prioritizing what’s best for their recovery.
Outside of work, Teri is deeply committed to social justice and access to equitable healthcare. Her approach to utilization review is rooted in the belief that when we understand a person’s unique context and the systems they operate within, we can offer more empathetic and effective care. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and exploring new music, all while embracing the small moments that make life meaningful.
